Vaja Gabashvilli is an accomplished sculptor and conservator with over 30 years experience in the field. His projects include the restoration of the two marble statues of George Washington adorning the Washington Square Arch & the conservation of Tiffany gilded glass mosaics in the vaulted ceilings of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. During his years with Steve Tatti, he has beautifully sculpted replacement parts for hundreds of marble, wood and bronze statues. He specializes in the restoration of historic and modern art objects, and his skills also include mold-making, stone and wood carving, welding, enameling, casting, Roman joints, metal-work, stained-glass and mosaic repair.

Elizabeth Carey Ceccio has nearly 20 years experience in project management and has been restoring art and architectural objects for more than a decade. She helped to restore the monumental bronzes at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Arch, Grand Army Plaza, while with the NYC Parks Dept. Monument Conservation Program. Her specialties include restoration of bronze, stone, wood, plaster and ceramic objects. In addition to conservation, Betsy manages the photo and technical documentation associated with Tatti’s monument restoration and large scale collections. She has been with Steve Tatti for nearly 6 years, following her tenure at Building Conservation Associates (BCA), where she oversaw the restoration of the mosaic clock-faces at MetLife Tower (2003). Her degrees in Geology, Fine Art and Architectural Conservation combine to give her a unique insight into the conservation of objects.

Steve Johnson has been restoring art and architectural materials with Steve Tatti for nearly 25 years following his tenure with the Guggenheim Museum. He is a talented specialist in the restoration and repair of damaged and deteriorated art and architectural materials of both historic and modern origin. While restoring thousands of pieces over the years, he has designed and implemented numerous innovative restoration treatments. For nearly 15 years he has managed Tatti’s on-going annual site-work for the outdoor sculpture collections of the Storm King Arts Center, City of Baltimore, and Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park. His skills include, but are not limited to, welding, soldering, brazing, patina work, structural repairs, fabrication, and paintings conservation. He is also an accomplished blues musician.
